As promised: Here’s the full coverage of the Ibanez booth at Musikmesse 2015. We talked to Stephan of Ibanez Germany about the new fanned fret-guitars and basses and other exciting instruments.
We were both very impressed with the awesome playability of the Iron Label fanned fret RGs, which will come out later this year and will go for a bit over 1000 €. And while Simon had already played and reviewed a fanned fret-guitar in the past, I haven’t had the chance to try one before. So – as a total FF-noob – I can honestly say that it feels absolutely natural and not weird at all.
Apart from these new Iron Label-models we had the chance to check out the new and absolutely gorgeous RG927WZCZ, an addition to the Premium line with a beautifully figured Ziricote top and an amazing Wenge/Bubinga neck.
Also new to the Premium line: the Ibanez UV71P – the reissue of Steve Vai’s iconic UV7PWH. It’s basically a white version of the UV70P BK.
